
Don has been active in theatre, on a variety of levels, for about 25 years.
In that time he has appeared most often (more than 30 times) with the Des
Plaines Theatre Guild, for whom he served as a Board member for more than a
decade. His past credits include Claudius in Hamlet, both Leonato and his
brother Antonio in different productions of Much Ado About Nothing, Agean in
The Comedy of Errors, and Lord Capulet, twice, in Romeo & Juliet. In
addition to these, his favorite credits include Milo Tindle in Sleuth,
Trojan in Equus, Gooper in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Otto Frank in Diary of
Anne Frank, Dr. Sheinfeld in E/R Emergency Room and Master of Ceremonies
William Cartwright in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, as well as parts in
Grease, Pippin, Cabaret and Chicago. He has most recently appeared as
Carrasco in Man of LaMancha (his second time in the role) and Dr. Bradman in
Blithe Spirit. Other challenges have been Threepenny Opera, Mame, Robin
Hood, H.M.S. Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, and as Krapp in the one-man
Beckett piece Krapp's Last Tape. Don is a former participant in the
ImprovOlympics, has appeared onstage with deejay Steve Dahl, and has
appeared for five years at the Bristol Renaissance Faire (as Lt. Col. Sir
Hannibal Wulffe) in the summer and at Great America's Fright Fest in the
fall. Behind the curtain, he has co-produced productions of Night of
January 16th, The Who's Tommy and A Chorus Line, and has worked behind the
scenes on Sweeney Todd, Our Town, Stop the World, A Thurber Carnival, The
Mousetrap, Bells are Ringing, Joseph & His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,
Steel Magnolias and dozens more. He has studied theatre and acting at both
Loyola and Roosevelt universities. |
